1) Research: Music videos

Watch the following music videos and analyse an aspect of media language for each one:

Music video 1: Marshmello x YUNGBLUD x blackbear - Tongue Tied

How is narrative used in this music video to engage the audience?
narrative is used because in the start it seems to look like a movie and it also seems dramatic making people want to watch and listen.

Music video 2: Years & Years - I Wish I Knew

How is camerawork and mise-en-scene used in this video? Use CLAMPS to remember the different aspects of mise-en-scene.
His costume makes him seem young as if he is like a child,
the setting is a party making it seem like he is having a good time
he is using natural lighting maybe indicating he is happy as it is bright and the sun is shining
it starts off as a close up and it turns into full body shot

Music video 3: Foals - Hummer

How is editing used in this music video to engage the audience?
He switches from one instrument from another showing what he is using.
also switching from different points of view

Music video 4: Your choice

Select a music video of your choice and analyse an element of it e.g. narrative, camerawork, editing, visual effects etc. If you're not sure which video to use you could watch some of the following:

visual effects: her making it glitch
showing clips of the news
medium closeup of her face 
 2) Music video planning 

Plan out the basic details for your music video. What song do you plan to use? Will your video be performance or narrative based (or both)? Complete the following on your blog:

Artist and song you have chosen: moon river by frank ocean

Plan for music video (narrative/performance etc.): if its about bullying ill show a girl getting bullied but she also has her own issues(the girl who is bullying her) but showing that everyone is going through something and chasing after life.

Link to brief (one small step to improving your community): helping to show everyone is in there own journey in life and everyone has problems and we need to notice people getting bullied and try help.

Advertising and Marketing: Key conventions

  1) What  key conventions  of print adverts can you find and what are the  connotations  or deeper meanings of each convention?  For each convention, write about how it communicates meaning to the audience.
